It's been ages since I've said hello and introduced myself on here, so for those of you who are newish to this page, welcome!

I'm Sheena, founder of CANTA Retreats, which began its story very organically in 2019 with my first retreat in Ibiza. An experienced teacher of pilates, yoga and movement, I currently live between my home town, Dublin where I teach regular pilates classes and my adopted home of Ibiza where I have been coming for over thirty years.

In a past life, I was an art historian and ran art galleries in London, but after having children, I decided to take a different path and trained as a clinical pilates instructor and yoga teacher. I have two beautiful boys of 21 and 23,who are now out in the world forging their own path and they are the centre of my world

CANTA Retreats was really born out of my love of movement and my deep connection to the island of Ibiza. I love to create experiences that are as much about exploring the beauty of this magical place as they are about yoga and pilates. I'm probably at my happiest scrambling through the Sabina pine forests and rocky cliffs of the island seeking new hikes, secret swim spots and adventures, and really love to share my favourite spots with my retreaters.

I strongly believe that yoga and pilates are accessible to everyone and that they have the ability to empower, heal and help us develop a sense of strength and calm, both mentally and physically. As a breast cancer survivor, I can say that gentle mindful movement got me through some difficult days and had a huge impact on my successful recovery.

I'm so excited to continue to grow and evolve this little business and 2026 will see some new Retreats and also the launch of a retreat venue in Ireland in an old Rectory, which I am currently renovating. I am so excited for the renovations to be finished to begin another chapter of the CANTA journey. I hope to see some of you soon and thanks for following along.

One of the best things about being on retreat is having amazing, healthy, delicious, freshly prepared food served to you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No cooking, shopping or cleaning up. Just a group of people sitting round a table enjoying whatever has been created by our private chef. The only downside is going back to reality when we go home!

This Ocober, we are so happy to have the wonderful @marsoulkitchen back with us keeping us nourished and fueled with tasty vegetarian food full of flavour.

Autumn Mat & Reformer Pilates Retreat
19th to 23rd October

We are down to the last two rooms on this retreat, and all other retreats are sold out. This one is for all the pilates lovers with a blend of mat and reformer pilates. It will be hosted at a lovely, architect designed villa, a five minute walk from one of Ibiza's best west coast beaches.

The excitement is now building for the Autumn Retreats, which will be hosted at a dreamy villa on the West Coast of Ibiza, and a mere five minute stroll from one of the loveliest beaches on the island.

Recently renovated by a design team from Madrid, the villa is a modern take on the laid back Ibiza vibe. Think crisp, white interiors with a beachy feel, modern ensuites and a garden of banana trees.

Whether you're a pool girl or a beach babe, there will be plenty of time to relax, go barefoot and lie on a lounger with a good book and a floppy hat.

Our Revive Retreat is sold out, but you can still grab a spot the October Pilates Retreat, which will include both mat and reformer Pilates.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the incredible food created by @nourishibiza on the three Spring Retreats in May! I think I took more photos of food than anything else, and it became a running joke that it looked like we were doing nothing but eating. There have been lots of requests for recipes, cooking workshops and a retreat cook book, and I am certainly missing being served delicious, healthy, vegetarian food everyday.. And don't even get me started on those matcha chocolate bites 😋
